Old Slides
Nikki and I were going through some old slides and I took some time to take some pictures of them to share. These are all from 1999. It’s pretty interesting to see 10 years later all my favorites have Nikki in them. We’ve been to some incredible places.
EAJ 24 week update
Elias keeps growing and growing! He’s closer to crawling, and has this scooting thing down pretty well at this point. He’s also starting to push himself up onto all 4s a lot more now. He and Mo are getting to be good friends. Well, maybe I should say Elias LOVES watching/touching Mo, and Mo puts up with it well. Elias is also eating more solids and he actually wants to eat them now.
SMASH!
Last night was yet another Tuesday night race. It was the perfect wind and the perfect course for us. We won the start (I nailed a port tack start) and were second to the weather mark boat for boat and in the lead on corrected time. We were planning on a gybe set and had gybed. A J/30 was coming at us but wouldn’t have hit us had he maintained his course. Instead the driver paniced and tried to bear away. He turned about 90º into us and smashed into our bow… Eggshells galore and a wrecked boat for us. Terrific. :unamused:
Elias is a scooter!!!
Well Elias can officially move himself around now. Not far (yet) but he can scoot on his belly across his blanket on the floor. He’s now chasing down the toys he’s most interested in including Moseley! Mo has been very good with Elias. The only issue so far is he loves to lick Elias including on the lips… We don’t mind most other places (his hands and feet seem popular) but the mouth is a bit much. Moseley seems to be getting it a bit more (lots of “no!”s) and is very tolerant of pokes to the eyes and grabbing on his ears and paws.
Yesterday was Dinner with the Abrams (sushi!) to celebrate Elias and having Nikki back to work full time. Yes she’s been back over 2 months now, but everything is finally relaxed enough now that we could make it over with Elias for a dinner. We had a great time, great food, and it was certainly fun to get out of the house. THANKS!!! We also made our own burgers for the first time this week which we amazing.
Elias 5 Month update.
Elias is getting bigger and more coordinated by the minute it seems. He’s not crawling, but we fear that’s around the corner. He can maneuver himself around the floor pulling himself along with his arms if he’s on a blanket, and he can continually roll himself over to get to things. It’s fun to watch, we just know it means he’ll be getting into everything sooner rather than later and we need to get the house baby proofed ASAP. He’s also getting much more coordinated with his legs thanks to the jumper. He can stand up next to the couch until he reaches for things now and he can also sit up until he goes for something as well.
Oh, and the red dots? Yeah, he got “attacked” in his crib one night when we didn’t need the AC (thanks to the cats clawing the screens). He also picked up a few more on his legs outside at some point. He doesn’t seem to mind, but we wish he didn’t have to deal with them.
Also, my mom has been doing his daycare for 2 days now as Debbies been on vacation. She’s been enjoying spending some more time with Elias and he seems to enjoy it as well. It’s also nice because my mom enjoys weeding enough our mulch beds are now 100% brown which is a first since the mulch went down. THANKS MOM!
