39 weeks!!!
Today we had our 39 week visit with the doctor. Technically it’s 39 weeks tomorrow, but close enough at this point. They put Nikki on another stress test “just because” and the doctor laughed when he saw us in there again. I guess they have done it the last 3 times just because they did it the week before. Anyway, everything is fine, excellent actually. Nikki is 80% effaced. I guess that means the baby could be here any minute, but he could also drag his feet, so who knows. We’re hoping for Friday so that he’s a leap baby, but honestly we’re just very excited to see/meet the little guy. I’ll be sure to keep the blog updated from the hospital (they have WiFi, we have a computer and camera packed). So if you haven’t seen it here, it hasn’t happened.

OK, I figured since a lot of people are now checking the blog daily for baby updates, why not have everyone guess his stats before he gets here… So please leave a comment with what you think his weight, length, birthday and name might be! Closest one to the correct answer on any of the 4 options get a slightly used diaper!!!! 
I’m Famous!!!
I sent my eclipse photo in to the local news station. They liked it enough they used it on the 6pm broadcast on Thursday night. My Mom managed to record it so we headed over to their house today with my little P&S digital camera and recorded the recording… Now it’s on youtube, so click this link and you can watch it!
Ben’s Baby Shower!
The girls at work decided to surprise me with a baby shower. And boy did they surprise me. My Dad was in on the gag, so he worked with me in my office for about a half hour while they set it up… Then he called me into his office to “help him” with something. I knew something was up when all the window shades were closed for his office. All the ladies from the office had coordinated an awesome lunch and wonderful gifts. I had no clue they were up to anything. They said it was a lot of fun watching a boy open baby gifts instead of the same old same old with the mom to be opening gifts. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of greats gifts for the baby. Luckily he hasn’t arrived yet so I was still at work. Thanks again ladies!!!
Lunar Eclipse!!!
There was a full lunar eclipse last night. While it didn’t have the desired effect at our house (no baby yet!) it was still incredible to watch. It’s the first eclipse I’ve seen when I’ve had the time and equipment to attempt to photograph it. These shots were taken from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. You’re looking at one shot every ~10 minutes. I then brought them all into photoshop and layered them into in giant image to make the image you see. Let me know what you think!
